Employees at Tombih Telecommunication Network Ltd (TTNET) recently participated in a transformative one-day peace training programme under the theme “Strategic, Executive, Corporate, and Workplace Peace.” The event which held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Divine Mercy Catholic Co-Cathedral was designed to enhance workplace harmony, improve employee relations, and foster a culture of professionalism.

The training featured presentations from distinguished experts, including Peace Expert Bochum Samuel, Justice Ekane Kenneth, Dr. Atem Tesita, and Fr. Frank Bayong. Employees were trained on topics such as corporate and workplace peace, global ethics and peace policies, mental health in the workplace, and the intersection of faith and work.
TTNET CEO speaks on the importance of workplace peace
In an exclusive interview, TTNET CEO and co-founder, Tombih Nfor Jervis, hehighlighted the significance of the initiative, emphasising the company’s commitment to improving employee skills and fostering a positive work environment. “We started operations on May 26, 2022, with just four board members, and today, we have grown to 42 employees. With growth comes challenges’, including workplace conflicts. One of the worst types is the ‘cold war’ – conflicts that remain unspoken but affect productivity. This training is crucial to ensure that employees learn to resolve disputes amicably and improve their interactions with clients and colleagues,” he stated.

Jervis expressed optimism that the training would result in a more confident workforce, improved communication, and a stronger corporate culture. “This training is to enable workers know how to settle their disputes among themselves, with clients and even handle some of their own difficulties so that it doesn’t affect productivities that we are offering to our clients. So that is the purpose of this training session today, which is a strategic corporate executive peace at workspace. After this training, I expect to see confidence in what they are doing, a more peaceful environment at workplace, I want to be able to see this on my customers’ faces, how they communicate with them, communication with the co-workers, communication within the workers and the board and the managers, I expect a much better experience in the workplace”, Tombih Nfor Jervis averred.

Peace expert, Bochum Samuel elaborated on the importance of workplace peace, stating that it enhances productivity, service quality, client satisfaction, and brand credibility. Conversely, he warned that the absence of peace leads to low productivity, internal conflicts, toxic competition, and financial losses. As a solution, Samuel recommended that companies clearly define their vision, mission, and objectives, recruit and train employees effectively, ensure regular performance evaluations and staff motivation, promote diversity, inclusivity, and proper task delegation, and maintain prompt salary payments and ethical business practices.

Employer-Employee relations – Justice Ekane Kenneth
Legal expert, Justice Ekane Kenneth stressed on the importance of employment contracts and their legal implications. He urged employees to fully understand the terms of their contracts, maintain confidentiality and professionalism and adhere strictly to contractual obligations to avoid legal consequences.
Employees reflect on training’s impact
Many TTNET employees left the training feeling empowered. Ebot Thelma Mbu, Assistant Talent Acquisition Manager, shared how the session broadened her perspective on workplace peace and corporate responsibility. “I now realise that workplace peace starts with me. I feel challenged to educate my colleagues about TTNET’s services so they can confidently represent our brand anywhere. This session also reminded me that professional relationships should be about merit and not just personal connections,” she said.
