Barely one year after the increment of Airport Stamp Duty from FCFA 10,000 to FCFA 25000, the Ministry of Finance (MINFI) it is reported, has witnessed its annual income from Airport Stamp Duty moving from FCFA 5.2 billion in 2017 to FCFA 11.2 billion in 2018.
This statistics as depicted in MINFI’s 2018 Budget Execution Report indicates that an additional FCFA 6 billion was raised from Airport Stamp Duty in 2018 representing over 100% increase compared to revenue collected in 2017.
Meanwhile FCFA 1,940,9 billion was raised as non-oil tax revenue, instead of FCFA1,912,0 billion forecasted for the 2018 fiscal year by the General Tax Department (DGI). This represents an increase of FCFA150,5 billion up from 2017, and an increase realization rate of 8.4%.
In a nutshell, the Budget Execution Report indicates that FCFA3,435.9 billion was recovered as internal revenues for 2018, representing 378.8 billion (+ 12.4%) increase from 2017. The report showed an increase in petroleum (+ 29.4%) and non-oil (9.9%) tax revenue.
These internal budget revenues exceeded $ 109 billion compared to the annual forecast of $ 3.32 billion, representing a realization rate of 103.4%
