Premium Enterprise Software Configuration of Manual Systems, PEFSCOM, a new technology and digital company has proposed a biometric voting program to Elections Cameroon, ELECAM charged with managing elections in Cameroon.

“A pertinent query was asked by ELECAM on whether what they have done so far is going to be erased by our program, but we assured them that we are just going to work from where they stopped and make the system a better one”.
“The biometric voting system will be able to detect whether or not someone has a valid voters’ card. It will also signal if the card has been used more than just once” Ekombe stated.
Launching the system recently in Buea amongst other products from the company, the CEO, Ekombe Franklin Mbua said the reason for creating the biometric system of voting was due to the fact that individuals have the opinion that their votes are not counted and that there are too many ghost voters in the system.
Ekombe also revealed that the new system is extremely fast as the results can be proclaimed in just a matter of hours after the voting process.
Quizzed on the issue of a duplicate registration, the CEO indicated that the system has been designed in a way that an individual cannot have duplicate account in his life.
“A duplicate time system has been instituted. Hence a person cannot register in Buea and do same in Douala and expect to vote. It is virtually impossible. In a case where a person has a duplicate registration, one account will be selected”. He said
“If the system is fully charged, it can take you up to 12hrs. Since elections do not go past evening, the system basically just needs to be charged ones and it can be used in any remote area in the country where there is no light and no network”. The CEO told reporters.
According to him, the biometric voting system was particularly created in a bid to ensure that there is a fair and transparent election this year and in the years ahead.
PEFSCOM also introduced other products which include; an Automatic tollgate system, Content Management System, Virtual Teaching and Learning, C-PAY System, Pstv; Television created purposely for education etc.
Talking of other programs developed by same company, EBE Primus, coordinator of the program explained that “The virtual Teaching and Learning is a new and innovative system in education that has to do with the use of technology and digital tools like computers, notepads, ipads, smart phones, internet and audiovisual devices in the teaching and learning process instead of simple pen, paper and chalk used in the traditional teaching and learning model”.
Talking of the Content Management Systems, EBE Primus furthered that, it is an application that gives directors, managers, heads of businesses, owners of small and medium size enterprises the latitude to efficiently manage and run their operations. It reduces management cost 30 to 35%, ensures accountability and transparency in the day to day operations.
According to Oben Simon Besong, Managing Director, “the aim is to transform manual systems which are plagued with a lot of disadvantages to computer based systems. The system has already been introduced in different spheres of life such as in the educational domain, visual teaching manual and others”. “The company intends to put vision 2035 at the forefront and will not slow its efforts to emerge before 2035”.
