After Cameroon hammered Kenya (4:1) just three days ago in Yaoundé, the two teams will face off again against each other in the fourth round of the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers, but this time on a neutral pitch – Nelson Mandela Stadium in Kampala (Uganda).
Kenya are 102 on the FIFA World Ranking List and 23 in the CAF Region. The popular “Harambee Stars” have never reached the World Cup and haven’t had much success in the AFCON as well. For the previous AFCON, they were disqualified due to a FIFA suspension and failed to qualify for the tournament in 2021. In these Qualifiers, Kenya is 3rd with four points in three games and are under pressure to win points in order to have a real chance of reaching the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Cameroon are one of the best African national teams – currently ranked as the eighth-best in the continent according to the FIFA World Ranking. The popular “Indomitable Lions” managed to win five AFCON titles but only reached the 1/8 Finals in the previous one. The Lions started the Qualifiers really well, as they are 1st in the group with seven points in three rounds. They are one of the favorites to win the upcoming AFCON 2025 in Morocco.
