Chief Dr. Fortecmelong Esua Denis of MbettaMbo in Nguti Subdivision kupe-Muanenguba has prescribed federation as a main solution to ongoing crisis.
The chief who is a PHD holder in Business Administration and based in Switzerland told the SUN on Thursday March 8, 2018 in a special interview that federation is the best option to resolve the current crisis, reason being that, about 95% of Southern Cameroon will have jobs with companies like Sonara, CDC and the Tapanga forest among others.
Quizzed why he opted for federation, he said his main focus is mainly for South West Region and that the North Westerners know what they want. He added that 85 to 90% Southern Cameroonians are for federation because they know it will create more jobs to resolve the disgruntled youths.
He argued that the crisis rocking the country should not be generalize as being an Anglophone affair. The chief pointed out that South Westerners should be allowed to choose where to belong because according to him, they stand for federation and not Secession. So those of the North West should choose which way to go instead of forcing others to follow their opinion.
The chief pointed out that the architects of Independence of this country like Foncha, Endeley, Muna declared for federation with East Cameroon and not Secession, while saying it will be a taboo for us to go against the will of these respectable statesmen who have joined their ancestors.
Chief Fortecmelong Esua condemned the senseless killings ongoing in the two English Regions of the country and forceful boycott of school by children he pointed out that those advocating for Secession are in the diaspora and their children are going to school but here children are being prevented from going to school and are now being used as human shields by Secessionist.
“Federation is the only solution to end this crisis” Chief Fortecmelong Esua said who has also called for the release of all those detained in connection with the ongoing crisis to enable dialogue take place. He added that for dialogue to take place people should learn to forgive one another.
“Give the separatists boys jobs now and their anger will be melt down and they will become good citizens, the chief noted and proposed changes that South West elites should be sent to meet the separatists boys in the country and those in Nigeria to talk peace with them.
Chief Fortecmelong Esua called on Cameroonians living in Nigeria because of the crisis to come back home and start rebuilding their lives while calling on separatists to down their weapons.
