Limbe: University of Benin ex-students alumni Cameroon unite for growth

Ex-students of the university of Benin alumni, UNIBEN, Cameroon on Saturday, November 16, 2024 held their general assembly meeting at Botanic Gardens, Limbe, with main purpose to scout for new members to join the association which is just a year old.

In his welcome address, the spokesperson for Limbe chapter, Dr. Mbome Njie Victor welcomed members present and said the purpose of the annual-come-together is to rethink the spirit of unity and to search for potential members.

On his part, the representative of the president of UNIBEN, vice president, Ignatius Bah expressed happiness for the yearly gathering and said the association aims at bringing together UNIBEN members in Cameroon for the growth of their alma mater.

He explained that the association is made up of over 60 registered men and women all over Cameroon who went through the University of Benin City in Nigeria.

“The association is moving on well. We come together to make sure we get closer to each other and see how we can help each other and help our alma mater too”, Bah said.

He explained that one of the key aspects during the meeting was centered on the fact that, members should always attend meetings, respect the constitution and always make contributions towards any project of the association.

In line with other matters, it was decided that registration will stand at FCFA 5,000 and yearly registration of FCFA 500 for old members and FCFA 1,000 for new members. Equally, in case a member is not committed in contributions, he or she will not be attended to when the time comes.

The association reviewed the constitution and adopted it. There was arrangement for the production of mufflers, opening of a bank account and registration of the association.

Ignatius Bah stressed on the fact that their njangi is moving on smoothly and called on other members to join which he opined, is a force which binds them together.

Douala was approved as the town to host the next general assembly come May 24, 2025, with a call for massive attendance.
