MTN Cameroon launches Facebook Flex

MTN Cameroon has launched what they have christened “Facebook Flex” for their subscribers in partnership with Facebook last Monday February 5. This is happening for the first time in Cameroon, to serve prepaid and postpaid subscribers. The service enables clients to follow news and stay connected with their friends and family free of charge.


Facebook flex, according to MTN, is capable of functioning with any type of phone capacity whether it is 2G, 3G and 4G.The subscriber will browse on his facebook account, exchange with friends, read, comment, share and send messages to friends and family without consuming, what they call, their data bundle.
On the difference between Facebook and Facebook flex MTN explains that in complete Facebook mode, browsing is billed on your data bundle and photos and videos can be accessed. On the other hand, they explain that Facebook flex enables the greater majority to discover free internet without data bundle and enables you to always stay connected with friends and family. Photos and videos are not accessible but in order to visualize them, the client can simply switch to the complete Facebook mode.
