SCB Cameroon, WAFA Assurance introduce long-term children education plan

The ceremony for the handing over of prizes to 30 winners of the Education Plan Tombola organized by Société Commercial de Banque (SCB) Cameroun and Wafa Assurance Vie Cameroun, took place last Tuesday March 6 at the SCB Academia precincts in Douala with the winners bagging home FCFA 200.000 each.
The education savings insurance plan initiated by the Wafa Insurance affiliate was introduced at the beginning of the 2017 academic year and only made eligible to applicants who needed school fee loans under the Education Plan, through SCB Cameroun.
Aside from having created a mutually beneficial window in their partnership to facilitate banking and insurance transactions, the two senior Managers said the laureates have been introduced to an education savings culture that has long-term education benefits for their children.
The handing over ceremony took place in the presence of the General Manager of SCB Mohammed Mejbar, the G.M of Wafa Assurance Vie, Mr. Driss El Houari, the Assistant General Manager Mr. Victor Emmanuel Menye, the Secretary General of SCB, Mohamed serouis, among others.
According to the education savings product, the customer will progressively increase savings in favour of the child as the beneficiary. The savings will enable the child to pursue high educations which will later open doors for an active adult life. The amount of FCFA 200.000 is an Education Plan platform that attracts a premium of FCFA 5.000 monthly.
The General Manager of Wafa Assurance Vie stated that Wafa uses the structures of SCB to do insurance business and it is a member of the Atlijariwafa Group.
