By a correspondent

The Douala I elective conference of the Social Democratic Front, SDF, now has a new executive bureau. Philippe Edimo Same was unanimously acclaimed to head the bureau following a consensus by delegates to the elective caucus.

Chaired by the national executive committee ( NEC) reorganization team leader, Senator Mochiggle Vanegansen, the hall was cramped to suffocation with delegates who streamed in for the elective conference on April 8, 2023.

After scrueinizing the list of attendees from the 41 wards pré-present, the former mayor of Douala III, Job Théophile Kpwapnang went further to verify the quorum as per SDF party text.

With a quorum largely impressive, it was time for serious business. The constituted bureau was acclaimed in unison – and was installed immediately by Senator Mochiggle.

Amongst top party officials present at the SDF Douala I, elective conference were the first vice chair Hon. Joshua Osih Nambangi, the secretary general, Barrister Adeline Lord Djomgam, the national communication secretary number III,kejang Henry Atembeh, the shadow cabinet minister in charge of communication and media, Ngidjol Ngan and members of the national executive committee from the Littoral region.

Speaking to delegates, the secretary general, Barrister Adeline Lord Djomgam paid hommage to fallen heroes of the party like mayor Adolf Lottin Same and Amana Mosole who worked relentlessly for the party’s image and flag to fly very high in the Littoral region.

Appointed on June 16 , 2022 as secretary general of the SDF, Barrister Adeline Lord Djomgam called on the militants not only of the Douala I electoral district but on all the militants to accompany her in this very challenging task as the first ever woman to occupy such a high profile function coming from the Littoral region.

Concluding after all the speakers, the first vice chair Hon Joshua Osih Nambangi called on the militants to work hard for the SDF to reconquer all the councils and parliamentary seats saying much work is still to be done especially with the up-coming national elective convention slated from July 27 to 29 this year.

According to Honorable Osih, the convention will present a new nomenclature with the injection of a new political class of party leaders.

Castigating detractors some of who came in as G 27+ spies, Honorable Osih told them to carry the message to the dissidents the ” SDF is waxing strong in Douala as they had seen from their respective hiding corners in the hall.”

After Douala III, IV and I , the next elective conference will hold in Douala V and II billed for late April.

The elective conference comes on the heels of NEC’s resolutions for party structures to be renewed ahead of the national elective convention programmed for July 2023.
