The municipal order no 248/KIC/M/2017 signed by the Mayor of,Ebako Abel Ndoh warning council staffs over the increment of the prices of Communal stamps in the SDF run council has started yielding dividend.
Some three workers of the SDF-run Kumba I Council, Renie Chapajong, Jennet Asitek and Mentia Ladifatou are currently behind bars at the Kumba Central Police Station following a complaint lodged against them by the Mayor, Ebako Abel Ndoh for increasing the prices of Communal stamp from FCFA 600 to FCFA 700.
According to reports gathered, news of the scarcity of communal stamps at the council took the Mayor by surprise few days after the council just order for the supply of stamps of about FCFA 45,000.
While there was scarcity of stamps in the council, a black market for the sale of stamps was booming just adjacent the council for FCFA 700.
What got the mayor even more furious is the fact that it is the council workers who quickly announce to a customer that the stamps are finished and will subsequently inform them that the stamps are being sold outside for FCFA 700.
